ARE YOU A TRUE CHRISTIAN?
Is your lifestyle aligned with The Word of God? Can people look at you and see the progressive Christlike nature in you? These are the questions we need to constantly ask ourselves.
Claiming to be a Christian is so easy nowadays, but are you a TRUE CHRISTIAN?
If you are truly a Christian, I hope you are aware that going to church regularly without a personal relationship with JESUS CHRIST is not the criteria for being called a Christian!
I individually believe you cannot have a true relationship with anyone you don’t know. The same principle governs our relationship with our creator. You cannot have a true relationship with anyone you do not know. The same principle govern our relationship with our creator.
How can you worship a God you do not know? For example, when we get new gadgets, we check it manual to get to know how it functions. you can only worship your God based on what you know about Him.
I believe a true Christian must believe in what Christ stands for which is The Way to The Father – John 14:5-7) and the purpose of His mission on earth, to die for our sin, in order to reconcile You and l, back to God through his shed blood on the cross of calvary -John 12:44-50). This cannot be truly known until you read THE HOLY BIBLE for YOURSELF.
When you’re convinced in your heart to give your life to Jesus Christ, the next important step is to get to know the person of JESUS CHRIST, through His word in order to be able to emulate His character, and practically applying what you read in THE BIBLE.
John 14: 5 -7 – Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well.”
John 12:44-50 – And Jesus cried out and said, “Whoever believes in me, believes not in me but in him who sent me. And whoever sees me sees him who sent me. I have come into the world as light so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness. If anyone hears my words and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day. For I have not spoken on my own authority, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment–what to say and what to speak. And I know that his commandment is eternal life. What I say, therefore, I say as the Father has told me.”
How can you give what you do not have or how can you proclaim to have what you don’t know it exists?
A true Christian must also be grounded in THE WORD OF GOD and your words, deeds, and actions must be in line with The Word of God. As the word transforms a true Christian from inside out, it becomes part of you, to share with others the true transformation you’re enjoying as it’s written in Matthew 7:20 – By their fruits you shall know them.
We should not expect anything contrary to what was written in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 from a true Christian.
1 Corinthians 13:4- 7: Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hope, always perseveres.
The standard for being a true Christian is extremely high. If you are blessed to have a true Christian around you celebrate them for choosing that narrow path. And You also can be one of them by choosing to read THE HOLY BIBLE for YOURSELF and showcase THE WORD OF GOD to all in your words, deeds, and actions.
