Finding Freedom is the labor of much thought, prayer, and love over the course of several years. Writing a novel is no small undertaking, much less one that is nearly 500 pages! Readers have informed me that while intimidated by the number of pages, they found they couldn’t put it down. That is the best compliment as a writer.

I have always been fascinated by all things criminal justice and am equally enamored with the military, particularly Special Forces. Once upon a time I thought I would go to the Air Force Academy and jump out of planes! I joke with my husband all the time that in another life I’d be an FBI agent. Despite my edge for danger, mystery, and intrigue, I am also a sucker for a really good love story. I love romance, especially heart-wrenching, dramatic love stories that show the power of love to overcome.

This Christian romantic suspense novel features many difficult themes, such as physical and sexual abuse, human trafficking, suicide, PTSD, and miscarriage. It is not my intention to glorify such realities. Rather, my aim is to raise awareness, give a voice to survivors, and show that the light of Jesus Christ shines in even the darkest of places.

On a brighter note, Finding Freedom also features lighthouses, music, dance, coastal landscape, witty jokes, and plenty of chocolate and coffee! These are a few of my favorite things.

Finding Freedom is contemporary Christian fiction set in coastal Maine as well as Galway, Ireland and the Aran Islands off the Western coast of Ireland. Even if you do not subscribe to the Christian faith, I hope you will still dare to pick it up and give it a read – you may find you identify with the skepticism and even antagonism of the heroine toward Christianity through much of the book.

My hope and prayer in writing this book is that every heart will be touched by reading it and that in some way, you will find freedom.
