The Peaceful Mom: Building a Healthy Foundation with Christ as Lord
Too many mothers long for peace but despair that it always seems out of reach. The stress of motherhood overwhelms their attempts to be the Christlike mom they aspire to be. Now moms can take heart: no matter where they are on their parenting journey, every mom can experience the power of Christ in a personal way that will radically change their lives, their outlook, their power source, and their approach to motherhood—and every other relationship as well.
April Cassidy, author of The Peaceful Wife, returns to discuss how the peace of Christ can be found in the next stage of life. Rather than writing a how-to book on parenting, The Peaceful Mom is a guide for moms to lead by example.
She first shows readers how to have their hearts and minds right with the Lord and to experience peace with God as their new normal. Then from that place of spiritual communion, April teaches moms how this peace helps them relate to their children in healthy, godly ways. Through their own flourishing relationship with Christ, moms can model God’s peace in their family dynamics even amid everyday challenges and stress. Cassidy offers tangible, detailed steps to spiritual growth that any mother can follow.
For moms who are ready to receive the healing and transformation available to them through Jesus, this book will open their eyes to see all of life–not just parenting–from a fresh, life-giving perspective.

“Just what the doctor ordered! Filled with stories from
April’s life as well as her readers’ lives, The Peaceful Mom brings
wisdom and peace to the table during times of potential stress for any mom with
kids in the house. Be prepared for many hard questions that will facilitate
growth for you. This book is especially powerful for moms who struggle with
living vicariously through their children’s lives.” (Nina Roesner,
executive director of Greater Impact Ministries 2017-12-11)
“As moms, we often feel like it’s all up to us to take control and make
everything turn out ‘right’ for our children. But this only creates stress,
anxiety, perfectionism, anger, and turmoil. With calming wisdom, April invites
us to find what she has found–the peace that only comes from knowing Jesus and
laying control before His throne. This book is rooted in God’s Word and filled
with practical help for finding balance as a responsible and peaceful
mom.” (Shannon Popkin, author of Control Girl 2017-12-11)
About the Author
My English teachers in high school encouraged me to be a writer.
I prayed about being a missionary. My father just wanted me to get a degree
that would help me make a decent living. I eventually settled on pharmacy
school – thinking I could help a lot of people that way and provide a good
living for myself.
Now – decades later – God has given me an opportunity to use the writing skills
He gave me and my story as a wife and believer in Christ to reach women around
the world for the Gospel. What an honor and a privilege to be here. I pray that
God might richly bless you as you read about my struggles to understand what it
means to be a godly woman and wife. God has done an incredible work in my life
already – and I still have much to learn. What a blessing to share that with
you and to be with you on this journey of discovery in Christ.
